Senior Quality EngineerAs part of the “Our Water Our Future: The Next Stage” of the Government’s Water Plan, the Victorian Government has developed a desalination plant near Wonthaggi to produce drinking water from seawater. The Victorian Desalination Project will deliver one of the largest reverse-osmosis desalination plants in the world, capable of supplying up to 150 billion litres of water a year - more than a third of Melbourne’s annual water needs and ensuring drinking water is available even in times of drought. Valued at $3.5B it is the largest single infrastructure project ever to be undertaken in the state of Victoria. Information on the project is available at www.aquasure.com.au. Opportunities now exist for Senior/Quality Engineers to join the Thiess Degremont team on the Victorian Desalination Project. They have developed a capability and reputation by delivering solutions to State and Local Government, through having in-house technical capabilities combined with delivery specialists allowing them to provide smart solutions, having earned a reputation as one of the regions leading specialist Process and Water Infrastructure Constructors having delivered throughout Australasia in remote, urban and environmentally sensitive locations. In your role as Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivery of all QA/QC issues and practices on a Civil related package of works with a value of C.$100m in Wonthaggi.
As per all on site roles, it is essential you are an excellent communicator with ability to communicate at all levels, client, consultant, sub-contractors and Head Office employees. Your role will include reviewing and commenting on contractors’ quality plans, ensuring compliance of contractor with all QA / QC requirements, further develop and enhance QA / QC documentation, including contract requirements, carry out regular QA audits of the Contractors, Prepare site-specific Work Instructions to support quality procedures, develop awareness of the implementation of quality procedures, manage day to day QA/QC duties, schedule and develop quality meetings with all stakeholders.
