Site Engineer - Civil

As part of the “Our Water Our Future: The Next Stage” of the Government’s Water Plan, the Victorian Government has developed a desalination plant near Wonthaggi to produce drinking water from seawater. The Victorian Desalination Project will deliver one of the largest reverse-osmosis desalination plants in the world, capable of supplying up to 150 billion litres of water a year - more than a third of Melbourne’s annual water needs and ensuring drinking water is available even in times of drought. Valued at $3.5B it is the largest single infrastructure project ever to be undertaken in the state of Victoria. Information on the project is available at www.aquasure.com.au.

An opportunity now exists for a Site Engineer to join the Thiess Degremont team on the Victorian Desalination Project based on St. Kilda Rd..

We currently have 2 opportunities for suitably experienced Civil Site Engineers to join this landmark project. You will have the chance to work as part of an expert team at an early stage of the project and develop your career with one of Australia’s leading construction contractors.

With opportunities in the construction of the Desalination Plant itself, you will need to have a minimum of 3 years experience in civil earthworks/drainage/landscaping and/or underground services on large scale construction projects.

You will be expected to work typical project hours, six days a week in this challenging position and be willing to relocate to Wonthaggi. The project is being completed to a very compressed schedule so this role will require full commitment and determination.  Relevant tertiary qualifications are required.
